On March 9th, 2013 PK and some of our closest partners are on a mission to give back to the music community we that love and cherish, and to those in need. We are donating 100% of the proceeds from this event to fund a digital music production program run by Antyx Community Arts in Calgary, and to a struggling elementary school in the heart of Cambodia. Join us in a celebration of our music community and give to charities with the purpose of funding the next generation of artists in our own community and assisting education abroad.

Let's take a look at the charities that will benefit from the event proceeds....
KhanSengSchool
When Jeremy & Eroca, two of PKâs founders visited Cambodia they had an opportunity to tour the countryside and visit the village 'KhanSengSchool'. They were astounded to find that that government provided no support what so ever to the school of over 450 students. Learning conditions were rough at best with classrooms that were over crowded.
What little support the school did have came in the form of the extraordinary commitment of our ex-monk turned tour guide, Koch Seiha, and three of his friends who are tour guides as well. In 2008-2009 the tourism industry suffered and they were forced to sell personal possessions in order to keep the school operating. Seiha personally donates more than 75% of his wage to the honorable task of rebuilding his home village's school so that others may have the opportunity of education as he did in the monastery at Angkor Wat.
In Cambodia families have to pay monthly enrollment fees at the school that they send their child to. A lot of children do not get sent to school at all because their parents can't afford the monthly fees. This school is free for the children to go to, and lots of children come from neighboring villages to attend. However, because the school is so small and they have so many children they have to run multiple sessions per day which is very taxing on the teachers, of whom there are too few.
"It was such a humbling experience", Jeremy recalls. "We take so many simple things for granted, education being just one of them. I've always felt education to be one of the most important things for the future of any person or country. It molds and shapes the future and is especially important for countries like Cambodia to develop a strong tomorrow"
After donating what they could personally, Jeremy & Eroca proposed to the rest of their team mates that more could be done and that PK could really make a difference in the lives of many children. Immediately the team grouped together for the new challenge and came up with the idea of throwing a community fundraiser.
The superhero theme just seemed to fit, since by giving a little we can accomplish great feats together. Dressing up gives everyone a bit more of an excuse to come out and have fun while supporting a great cause. Since we have been focusing more and more on being a sound provider & manufacturer, we stopped throwing most of our own events but a lot of us still love to do it. It's a perfect excuse to get back to our roots doing something we love for a good cause.
All of the proceeds, and we mean ALL, are going to the two charities. PK along with some great partners are all donating our time, gear and commitment into raising as much money as we can.
If this fund raiser goes as well as we expect we will make this an annual event, making it bigger and bigger. We really believe in supporting our community and it's been a core value of PK since the beginning. We all take what we have for granted and we want to continue to help those in need.

Community, Culture, Collaboration: Antyx works in communities across Calgary. Antyx community arts projects can have a neighborhood focus or they may be focused on addressing community identified issues. Arts are used in development processes to build community capacity and to creatively and critically engage people in processes that address important community issues.
COMMUNITY ARTS PROJECTS provide opportunities for youth to make tangible contributions to their community and be recognized for those contributions. The arts open the door to self-reflection and self-expression, allowing youth to explore who they are and their place in the world.
