HAPPY BIRTHDAY HABITAT! 4 AMAZING YEARS SHOWCASED FROM DECEMBER 12 – 15.

When sitting down to write this blog post, it took a while to reflect on the four years that have gone by since we installed a PK system in Calgaryâs best micro-club; Habitat Living Sound. So many talented local and international artists have come and gone, and so many cherished memories are still fresh. It all started like thisâ¦
Four years ago the Habitat family came to PK looking for an audio partner. Obviously we were thrilled they were interested in our products, especially with so many options in Calgary for audio installers. Cary, Mikey and John were, and still are, staples in Calgaryâs dance music community, and since we all grew up in this scene together we all knew it was a good fit. We now had the ability to help them turn a dream into a reality, and this became a very special mission for all of us at PK.
The club was looking for a system that could accommodate a wide variety of music. Initially the plan was to have the system work for three different DJ locations. Using our latest products at the time, we began to devise placements that made sense both acoustically and aesthetically. Our goal was to install a system that was versatile enough to accommodate any act, with the qualities our clients look for when choosing PK over the competition; namely our full-bodied low end and high end clarity. However, we quickly realized the best acoustic placement wasnât necessarily the most aesthetically pleasing, considering changing DJ position. Being the audiophiles that we are, we opted for a design in which sound was a priority, and this was in line with the clubâs mission to keep music at the forefront of everything they do. The chosen system works well for this micro-club atmosphere; we went with a 15,000 watt system consisting of our first generation double 18â subwoofers CS218 and our single 15â + 1.5â horn MF115 tops. The system has been perfectly tuned for the room and the music that frequents it. We proudly showcase it to prospective clients. In addition we had the pleasure of designing a tight disco ball cluster and light show to further compliment the unique new club feel that Habitat created.

We are planning to help Habitat make a few key changes to the current sound system, and to add some new lighting FX in the New Year. We are very proud to call the Habitat crew clients, friends and family. Happy Birthday Habitat!

Habitat Living Sound Turns 4 Years Old
Calgary, Alberta - Habitat Living Sound is pleased to announce a week of events in celebration of their 4th anniversary.
Four years ago Cary Chang, Mikey Da Roza, and John Liwag changed the face of Calgaryâs nightlife. When they opened Habitat Living Sound in the historic Radio Block in the heart of Calgaryâs fashion district they hoped that they would become a fixture in Calgaryâs music and dance scene. The vision was to be a place where music was always on the forefront. With hard work, determination and perseverance, this goal has become a reality.
Four years later, Habitat Living Sound is Calgaryâs top venue for DJs from across Canada and the world. Habitat maintains its popularity by bringing in the best, but also promoting the best local talent there is to find. For their 4th anniversary they have arranged 4 nights that are sure to not only prove that they still have what it takes to lead the crowd in Calgary, but also that they are here to make their mark for another 4 years.
